Brian, I just wanted to tell you that the we as Nevadans all thank you for your service, and I thank you not just for your friendship, but for your commitment to service and your commitment to the university, which means so much to the two of us.
Brian, thank you for all that you have met in my life.
What you've met in our community in our state, in our.
In our country.
All of those are better because of you.
I'm so grateful for you, for your leadership and who you are as a human being, as a husband, a father, a leader, and just a dear friend.
I love you and thanks for all you've met in my life.
Brian, congratulations on this award.
You're very deserving.
And I'm grateful to somebody like yourself who has given his life to public service.
That's admirable.
And it's being recognized tonight.
And I know the recognition will continue over the years.
So, my friend, congratulations good luck.
And I look forward to the next time I get a chance to visit with you.
We we're very fortunate and grateful to have you and Lauralyn in our lives.
Your character has defined your leadership with humility, patience, competitiveness, compassion, and careful consideration for the betterment of our community and the University of Nevada.
Being president of this University of Nevada, Reno is more important to many of us than being president of the United States, so thank you.
In honor of you and how you continue to lead with genuine, heartfelt benevolence.
It is only fitting we celebrate you this evening.
Thank you, Brian, for being a true Nevadan.
With Nevada in your heart, go pack.
Brian, I have to tell you, it has been a complete pleasure for me to know you from the day you walked into McDonald Carano in 1988 as a law clerk, to when you became the attorney general of this state.
And then became the governor and served with me on the federal district court.
I can tell you that every one of those experiences was a wonderful experience for me.
Because of you, you've offered something positive, energetic and pure in everything you've done.
And for me to look at you and say, you're my friend and I appreciate having you as a friend for these past 35 years of my life is a treasure to me.
I thank you very much.
Well, Brian, the the obvious comment I have to make to you is thank you.
Thank you for your friendship.
Thank you for who you are.
Thank you for being a mentor to my kids and thank you on behalf of the community and the state for everything you've done for us and for UNR and our for everything you are doing and will do for it.
It's a pleasure and I'm proud to know you.
And I'm flattered by our friendship.
Thank you.
Brian, congratulations on this richly deserved recognition, Carolyn, and I wish you and Lauralyn all the very best.
And for everybody here tonight, we thank you for your contributions to our state, your leadership, and your promise, thanks.
Good evening, Brian.
This is your friend Eathan O'Bryant here.
Congratulations on your much deserved award and recognition tonight.
You've always been someone that kind of wanted to stay out of the spotlight, the limelight, and kind of want to be in the shadows.
But you also have been the wind beneath a lot of peoples wings, mine included.
So you deserve this honor tonight.
God bless you.
God bless Lauralyn and the rest of your family.
Keep up the great work.
I know God is saying tonight that this is my beloved son for whom I am well pleased.
Thank you brother, congratulations.
Brian, you have probably had more titles than anybody except the British royal family.
But I know that the title or role that matters most to you is that of Nevadan.
You are a true son of the Silver State, and I know that that's the title you would probably wear with the most pride.
I also know that the title that means the most to me is that you have been and always will be my friend.
Thank you for all you've done for this state.
Brian Sandoval.
Brother Brian, congratulations.
You so deserve this award.
You spent a lifetime in a career multiple careers in every capacity, accomplishing this feat that is happening in honoring you tonight.
Well done, godspeed, my friend.
When I was asked to come in and give this interview, I looked up the deaf and definition of philanthropist and a philanthropist is somebody who's dedicated to promoting the welfare of others.
I can't think of a better descriptor for Brian Sandoval, and I can't think of a better descriptor of his entire career.
Brian, this is an accolade that's well-deserved, an honor, that's well-deserved.
Congratulations, my friend.
Brian, well very proud of who you are as a as a person.
We don't always talk about stuff like that, but just know that I'm always there for you and continue to be there for you.
And I know that you still got a lot of good things to get to do in your life.
Brian I hope that what I said today.
Pleases you, and lets you know how I saw you growing up, maybe you didn't see yourself that way, but I did.
And I am so very proud of you and I love you.
Husband, congratulations on this well-deserved recognition tonight.
Not only are you the world's best and most loving husband, father, son, friend, you are also a unique man on the planet with how much you care for your fellow humanity.
The fact that you have given your life and service and you have made changes small and maybe somewhat easy, but have also taken the risk and made the hard decisions to make big decisions that have changed the lives of people in generations to come.
Or, as they say, you have planted the seeds for the trees that you may never see the shade of.
Congratulations again.
We are all so lucky to have you in this world.
I am so lucky that you found me.
I love you and congratulations.
